I'm sorry but Matheson's contract has 5 seasons left with cap hit of $4.875M per. You have to consider we are going to have at least 2 more seasons of a flat cap. I do like POJ but you are going to have too add for a team to even consider taking Matheson's contract.

Trading Aston-Reese and Lafferty frees up room for better forwards, and helps the Penguins restock on draft picks.

I do not know the bandwagon of trading Pettersson and Joseph. Who wants the Penguins' defense to decay?
