Oilers pass. You need to pay to have him removed from your roster. But would be compensation for point, serg, AC. Tampa saves some cap and gets picks

The thing with offering picks for Seattle to take players is that it needs to be more enticing than the players available, and I don’t know if a very late first rounder is enough to entice Seattle to take an over paid bottom six forward over a young up and coming top 4 defenseman like cernak.

Even with Tampa's situation, there's enough demand for guys like Palat and Killorn that they will fetch assets in return, just likely not 1sts like they would in a normal year. I'd like to pay less but I think reality is Killorn gets a 2nd and prospect. If you removed the 5th I'd probably pull the trigger. Killorn has 2 years of contract at a reasonable price so not a rental either.

Oilers still pass, there will be FA that won't cost any assets.

Killorn has a decent 2 year contract and was a top 6 winger on back to back cup winning teams. There won't be many options in free agency that have a similar resume and are willing to sign in Edmonton for a reasonable price.

It's not like killorn is going to step into the Oilers line up and win them the cup, there are top 6 options available that do not cost a single asset.

No, but he builds depth and at a $4.5mil forward for 2 years that's around 20 goals and 50 points per 82GP is a step in the right direction and worth a 2nd. There are exactly 6 free agent forwards with equal or more points last year than Killorn. Landeskog/Ovechkin/Krejci will stick with their teams. Hall is extremely unlikely to come back. That leaves Hyman and Hoffman. Hyman is likely going to get a contract that will kill you a few years down the road. Hoffman is likely the best free agent fit but will likely have a few suitors, isn't always the easiest to attract guys to Edmonton.
