Initial Creation Date: Jul. 8, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Options of Zohorna, Poulin, and Lafferty as the 4th Left winger.
Stronger team to play against with Coleman and Greenway without giving up too much offensive power.
Let two goalies battle it out and consistently ride the hot hand.
If MIN rejects I would consider throwing in POJ and not the pick.

Value wise I think that pretty heavily favors Minnesota. Especially if you're willing to add PO Joseph. That said, I don't think Minnesota is in the position to be adding anymore expensive wingers. This also throws a wrench into the expansion draft for us, because we'd pretty much have to expose Dumba to Seattle, and I don't think we should be doing that.

I'd bet we say yes based on the value, if we could ensure that Seattle won't take Dumba, and it's a reasonable cost to do so. Otherwise this deal becomes effectively Dumba, Greenway, Soucy, 2nd for Guentzel, and that's not worth it.

I was unsure of Minnesota's expansion draft situation. I guess the rumors on trading Greenway has been more for exposure purposes.

Lets call Billy G and Hextall to convince our GM's to swing a three way deal with Seattle where we offer draft picks to ensure they choose right player?? LOL

Maybe McCann for Greenway makes sense. But Guentzel is just crazy. Guentzel has been a top 20 wing in the NHL the past 4 seasons. And he’s only played 5 seasons.

Here comes he’s a product of Sid comment/reply. Well ask D.Simon, Beau Bennett, C.Sheary, D.Sprong, D.Kahun how many PPG and 20 plus goal seasons they had playing on Sids wing.

And why would they resign ZAR; he’s a RFA..? One of the best two-way forwards the last 2 seasons.

While defensive ZAR does not really produce offensively and has very little physical impact, something the penguins obviously need.

In terms of the Gunetzel I understand that McAnn looks better for us better to be realistic it would definitely make Minnesota bite and give us some cap space to sure up the bottom 6, but very good point about not everyone working well with Crosby. It would be the biggest question mark

2 players 318 games 32 goals vs 1 player 299 121 goals that minny trade is just plain awful

then you add coleman 301 games 71 goals. that is 3 players 103 goals vs 121 goals and it saves no cap space you actually lose some 3 players 9.6 million vs jakes 6 million then you add on the best defensive prospect the pens have sorry but no chance in helllllll
