I think we'd be able to keep him. We have 18 mil next year and kadri will most likely be let go unless he has a major resurgence this season. But i'd assume here kadris money goes pretty much across to forsberg

I really like this. Maybe a bit much for the rental, but hard to value the retained salary. And Compher is probably negative value in the trade.
The big drawback here is JoJo as backup. He'd be great as the 3rd but not proved enough for "full time" backup. But maybe there is room here somehow to add a good backup/keep Franky.

Whether you keep him or not (which I personally doubt is possible), that doesn't change his value as an asset from NSH.

Yeah i know what you mean. Compher was mostly placed in the trade for cap reasons. I think we'd have to save 500K somewhere and pretty much send jojo down to fit franky in. I just bought him out here which probily wouldn't happen but i didn't know which team would take him and didn't wanna get ripped for sending him to the wrong team

I would assume Kadris money will be saved for MacKinnon

Johnson is done when mack is done, that should be more than enough to cover him

Correct, Forsberg is a 1 year rental, thus the return NSH is able to get back for him is capped to an extent. Unless he is signed to an extension before he is traded what happens to him after he is moved is irrelevant to his trade value.

Its far too much to give up for him. Hell even Hall didn't get a 1st. I'm not saying this is like that but he might get half of the return you proposed

Forsberg would be great. Not sure the cap works unless they either move on from Saad, trade Burakovsky, or bridge Makar though.

I'd like to think we are going to extend him. I also think forsberg is coming with a bit more value than hall. He's younger, i'd say he's more consistent and he's a right handed shot which i'd say is a little more valuable than left. Plus he will be putting up more than 13 points next season come the deadline. He will easily get a first. In this case i'd lilke to think the first will be atleast in the last 4 so it's a late first, a B prospect in bowers and maybe an A prospect in kaut. I really don't think its that much to give up for a player who can slot in line 1 if we needed.
