Wilson is the type of guy I think giving up Amirov is good. The 2 goalies your just trading G. Could be a different project goalie from leafs I guess. A more ready one?

I think also this makes more sense for us rather than giving up a solid backup goalie just for a second round pick. Leafs fans on here trade for Vanecek for scraps when we could just hold onto him. Why would we trade him away when we’re up against the cap and he makes near 700k for another year? There has to be a reason for us to trade him away. If Seattle wants to claim him in expansion, it saves us from losing another important player. This is the type of trade I’d be cool with losing Vanecek in.

Would Robertson instead of Amirov be a deal breaker?

From a leafs stand point yes.

I'm a leafs fan and I have Amirov > Robertson. Just my opinion.

I know you are I checked. Amirov might be better than Robertson in three to four years and at that point it won't matter. We need Robertson over Amirov for our timeline.

Considering they both have considerable upside, I’d honestly be fine either way. But I’d imagine leafs fans want to see a full season of Robertson after watching what his brother did in Dallas.

The only problem is expansion, the leafs likely wouldn't do it solely based on not being able to protect vanecek.

Would Vanecek not be the goalie you protect? I feel like Seattle wouldn’t take Campbell considering he only has one year left and they have better options with Holl and Kerfoot.

If Campbell is left exposed he would 100% be the starting goalie of the newest franchise. He had an incredible season and a great first round and an excellent cap hit, I think even tho he only has 1 more year Ron francis would absolutely try extending him.

Would it be terrible to lose Campbell? It protects you from losing Holl, Kerfoot, and any other skaters who have some decent trade value.

leafs only consider this trade post expansion. Pre expansion and they either remove the pick or take out Artur for a lower prospect

Holl will be protected, they will go 4F4D1G it's easier to replace kerfoot over Campbell, vanecek is still unproven, he showed well in a somewhat sheltered role and Campbell played like a number 1.
