Isles decline, can't take on salary and not looking to trade for damaged goods.

NIghtOwl- I am hearing Islanders as the spot for Vladi....Leddy's contract is like 5.5 So maybe the Blues retain some of the Salary. Yes he has had 3 surgeries but from what I hear third one fixed what the first 2 didnt that part of the reason he is wanting out. Because he doesnt trust the medical staff. THe third surgery was done by an outside source. I think will be ok.

no one from the islanders side have mentioend they are interested. This is just a general speculation because the Isles need a sniper for Brazal. But Tarasenko isn't that guy. Especially when you factor the following:

No cap space
We have to sign 4 key FAs on our team which is going to cost around 16-18M
Taking chance on a skilled player with 3 major shoulder surgeries in the past 3 years
we currently only have 5M to sign anyone right now....

No chance Lou does this for the Islanders.

Instead he'll trade a 1st, bellows, and ladd for parise. Lou scares me sometimes though hes great at what he does. Personally i would accept this deal and pay someone else (like detroit) to retain. The risk is worth taking with a price like this. Imagine if he returns to form and this is all you gave up. It would be an adam fox like steal.

value wise I like the deal for the penguins.
I just don't see where he fits.
ZAR is cemented into the LW spot. He's probably not leaving.
Sanford would be nice but they would have to move McCann for that to happen as I think 3LW is probably his ceiling.
And while I don't think it's impossible for that to happen, I think guys like Poulin aren't far off from making that jump and they could be playing next year depending how they do in the minors.

The penguins are very deep on LW.
Jake, Zucker, McCann, ZAR, Poulin, OConnor even Zohorna.

Even if you move a guy or two out....the truth is guys like Poulin and OConnor are pretty much NHL ready.
I don't see them looking far for replacements on the LW to be honest.
Now if he was a RW, that would be a different story. As a 3RW would probably be of interest. As Rust, Kap and Tanev are locked but that 3rd spot is up for grabs unless a LWer plays over.
If they are chasing targets this offseason it's for 3RD as they won't have one when Ceci leaves if they don't think Maniscalco can fill the role.
Probably LD as well if they trade one of MP or Matheson.
Every other position I think they are either set or deep with the probable replacement.
