Wild should start a rebuild in 2023 because there’s no point in contending with 15 mil in dead cap.

We have roughly $26M this year and next year in cap space.

$37M in 23-24, which makes things tight but it's definitely doable.

We're fine, as long as the cap is managed properly.

Lol. Someone's in denial... You have a year before you have a $15 million-sized hole on your bench for THREE years, and you're stuck somewhere between competing and tearing the whole thing down. Yeah, you'll definitely be fine tears of joy

You have 15M in dead cap hits for 3 years, the cap is already not managed properly.

Nearly every star player on your team will be exiting their prime by the time that $15 million against the cap disappears. All of them at 30 or on the wrong side of 30. Save for Kaprizov, Fiala, Eriksson Ek, and Dumba. So yes, you'll be fine in regards to fielding a team that can play, but don't fool yourself into thinking it'll be a competitive team. The wild's focus from now until 2026 has to be to build through the draft and leverage any players they can deal away for futures. Anything else is just delaying the inevitable in tearing it all down.

Buddy I’m not checking with bill guerin before I throw trades down.100% you can get more out of fiala and kaprizov. I’m not sitting here saying everything I’m putting in here is a perfect real life trade, just an idea of what types of pieces would be involved. What does la give up for krill?

We have a top ten prospect pool. Many of whom will be graduating to the NHL in the next few years. There are and is plenty of young upcoming talent on ELC's or potential Bridge deals to make up the difference.

How do you not understand kaprizov can't be had. Just stop like all wild fans have told you

If you want to make proposal for other teams feel free to but understand kaprizov is unavailable, and going nowhere

People dont understand it would be like eichel + to get him off the wild, this was one of the best players in the division in his first year in the league

People dont understand it would be like eichel + to get him off the wild, this was one of the best players in the division in his first year in the league

I dont at all want him to leave. With this cap situation they could get pushed there possibly. Like did he say he wants to be with the wild for the rest of his career? Cuz god they need to hold onto him just to keep the fan base going till this is all over.

Truly are you, and no deke even wild fans? I don't think you are with this comments all day

NodaK is definitely not with his profile, no wonder the horrible proposals.

I am not a wild fan.

He said he wants to stay if he sees the vision for the franchise, he knows that they werent expected to even make the playoffs last year

Well they will have plenty of young guys with promise as they shed a lot of people around him. I hope they go nuts this year. They have that extra cap so May as well see what you can get.

idk, honestly as a very die hard fan, I dont like the suter buyout in the CY. At this pace, I think they have to look at moving dumba and or fiala to make the numbers work in year 3/4 and get kap a center

We have a top ten prospect pool. Many of whom will be graduating to the NHL in the next few years. There are and is plenty of young upcoming talent on ELC's or potential Bridge deals to make up the difference.

O for sure. I mean with Boldy and Rossi on board, you're in a great spot, but I don't think you'll be competing for the cup. A fringe competitor in the 6-8 seed? Sure, but fielding a team that can compete for the cup while hamstrung by $15m in dead space is nearly impossible. As long as Guerin recognizes that and builds for the future, you guys will be alright.
