MTL wouldn’t do Suzuki vs Eichel straight up
Everyone knows MTL isn’t trading Suzuki who will make around 7.5M on is next deal for inured Eichel making 10M …

I think a lot of people are under the misconception that suzuki is a guaranteed first line c. He’s good but he may never hit the offensive numbers to be the number one guy. Eichel is probably a 90-100 point guy. If injuries are that big of a deal sabres just won’t trade him until it’s proven he’s healthy

Suzuki is Right now a 1st line center
With the small sample we got with Caufield, those 2 will be stars in the NHL
We went to the Stanley Cup final without Danault Gallagher Weber Petry producing, it was coming from Suzuki and Caufield
Give them a good LW (because Toffoli is trash) and they will both be a point per game player starting next year
    Landeskog would be insane
Eichel will have a NMC in 1 year so he will decide where he wants to go (Boston only). Sabres needs to trade him this summer IMO

Bergeron was ppg once in his career and no one doubts him as a 1st line center. Suzuki can be the same way. hes already very good defensively. if anaheim wont do Zegras for Eichel then the Habs are certainly not doing Suzuki or Caufield

Which is fine but as Sakic proved with duchene you can wait over a year for the right value. And comparing suzuki to arguably the greatest defensive Center of all time is quite high praise. Also remember when they did win their cup they had krejci as offensive support at c.

I would also value zegras we suzuki

I don’t think they will, but IF they sign Hamilton and/or Landeskog they MIGHT
Weber was horrible and he was playing 25 min a night
Take him out and we are better
Caufield wasn’t playing last year, add him and we add 20+ goals
Suzuki will have for once a talented line mate in Caufield
    Depends what Bergevin do

To clarify I don’t think canadiens should deal suzuki for eichel. But kk was a healthy scratch, their first is basically worthless as a key cog. Suzuki or caufield are realistically the only two pieces that could be a starting point. Ducks wouldn’t do zegras but they also have a high pick and other prospects they could do.

Same with la a top ten picks and deep prospect pool.

Imo canadiens should stay the course aside from looking for another good top six c and a rhd in place of Weber.

Kotkaniemi was the Habs best goal scorer at 5on5 and didn’t have a bad game
It sucks we have an ECHL coach caliber, Ducharme is the worse coach in NHL history
So we can’t bring Kotkaniemi was a healthy scratch because the coach sucks, he was one of our best player in the playoffs
