I just don't get it. It makes sense but Skjei is young and a top 4 dman already why trade someone like that who is a young top 4 dman for a possible rental who is a 2nd pairing dman who has very good offensive upside? Can sign him on July 1 and keep Skjei.

Even if a sign and trade,Skjei can be a huge part of the future and being 5 years younger than Mac his eventual replacement.
