Description
Rather than look for a top-notch 3C to go along with the 1LW we know they need, why not shop two LW's and run Nuge at 3C? In this scenario I actually brought in three LW's in order to block Holloway for most of the year.

Conclusion: if Holland plays his cards right, he still has plenty of cap space to make significant improvements to the team this summer. And that's without a rumored Kassian trade...

I’ve been ready to right off turris but word is he’s putting a lot of work in this offseason he could be a surprise and seeing as he’s already under contract and only logical way to remove him from the team is sending to ahl we might as well give him another good look in preseason as far as I’m concerned considering situation have nothing to loose but lots to possibly gain.

Oilers need to add to that trade since you are dumping Koskinen salary even if you are taking 2 million back.

Hypothetically, if Mike Smith was signed for 1 year at $4.5M, would you consider him a cap dump?

I think they will look at everyone during training camp would be nice if he all of a sudden emerged as a second line center again.

I agree, most have been sending him to the AHL (me too) but I think it'll come down to training camp battles. I have him as a healthy scratch here for that reason.

Borocop is done, this just saves a few dollars. Koskinen can still play so this is a win for Nashville, except for the cap. Both players have just one year left.

Mike Smith is a hell of a lot better than Koskinen. So, yeah that would be a cap dump otherwise you would keep him and not be trading him for some washed up defenseman.
