Sabres fans, what is Kane worth to you?

Description
To me, this trade makes more sense than a Duchene/Landeskog trade. Very hard to resign Markov next year, but maybe that's okay? Would have been nice to keep Barberio.

For me personally, I don't like Nathan Beaulieu, IMO he's a third pairing defenseman. But that's probably just me.

I'd want a trade like Kane + Girgensons + 2nd round pick for Sergachev

Now that Kane has scored a bunch in the last few games, most Sabres fans on here are all about keeping him. How fast a few goals can change minds.

I would not trade Sergachev+ unless one of Eichel, Reinhart or Ristolainen would be coming our way. Funny enough Sergachev has a striking similarity to Risto at the same age.

As for Beaulieu, you're right. All smoke and mirrors with the kid it seems.

That and more so the season is nearly over and Sabres fans have given up on the idea we get a LHD to come in and save this season. I'd rather keep Kane for a run next year, than trade him for a future LHD when they have Guhle probably making the team out of camp next year, and probably a cheaper healthier Kulikov, who is a decent d man but is playing hurt. Kane realistically doesn't get moved because the Sabres are not tearing it down, and the Sabres still have a good prospect pool. Futures dont help them now, next year, and really won't have a place in the Sabres system, at least not at a value equal to Kane. Kane's a good player and everyone on here is mistaken that the Sabres are shopping him because they need to get rid of him. He's not being shopped, but GMTM will take an offer that makes the Sabres better immediately and for a few years on.

The only way I think Buffalo moves Kane is for a defenseman that can immediately make the top-4 better and I just don't see a guy in Montreals system that both teams could agree on. Beaulieu is just more of a project than the Sabres can afford, and I'm sure Buffalo would want sergachev but Montreal is obviously not looking to move him. I just don't see a fit here

Well, theres my answer... too bad the habs don't have the players to make this happen. I agree with all above about Beaulieu, just going to add that he is 24 and set a career high for points this season already (2/18/20). Maybe I'm crazy, but if we're in "win now" mode, it makes some sense to trade Sergachev... I would be tempted to do Kane + Girgensons + 2nd Round for Sergachev, even though Girgensons has probably already shown his ceiling. Thats also why I'm not a GM

I think Girgensons could do better on a different team, where he got a consistent top 6 chance, but i doubt MTL is that team for him. I think he's just an old regime guy, that the new regime has moved past on. I'd like to know what kind of interest their is for him
