Ofcourse, but there's not really a choice to be made lol Hartnell has a NMC and won't waive it. My thinking is that the only way he does is if there is a guarantee in place (a pick sent to Vegas) to not select him then re-invoke his clause afterwards. He's finishing his career in Columbus, as he has already stated.

Not sure you would even need to send a pick. Las Vegas would not be interested in Hartnell. His contract plus the fact that he is 35 years old will be an immediate turn off. I truly believe that Hartnell would waive his NMC to keep this team together.

So essentially you're spending the pick to ensure that Anderson get protected? Why not just allow Anderson and Karlsson to both be exposed? You're only losing one, so why spend the pick just to get Hartnell to waive his NMC?

Love the Honka trade though. I've been a big fan of him for a long time.

I think it's worth losing that mid round pick to steer Vegas to take Karlsson. Yes we're going to lose someone anyways, but I value Anderson more than Bill, even though centers are more valuable than wingers. We're just so thin at NHL-quality RWers, and have Dubois coming up at C (also in this case Duchene), so losing Karlsson wouldn't hurt as bad as losing Anderson.
