Description

This is not a sexy roster, but Jim can't afford to blow his wad on a top tier free agent, nor can he take on any big contracts.

Needs:
- Cap Space!
- RD - Hamonic wants to be here, we shouldn't have to overpay on a 3 year deal (future trade bait too).
- RD - grab Clifton in a sweetheart deal for Boston to take on Holtby's salary.
- Top 6 F - address midseason if needed, lets see how Podkolzin looks and whether Schmidt still wants out.

Not Needed:
- Edler, unless dirt cheap.
- Holtby (and his contract), rumor that Boston is interested.

Result:
$25M in cap space next season and all we need to worry about is extended Boeser.

Looks good. Wonder if we take a run at Schwartz to move Pearson down. Also interested to see if Schmidt gets moved, then things are going to get interesting.

That "rumor" was anything but. It was started because some hack Boston writer mentioned Holtby as someone who could be available. They also listed 9-10 other players Boston could look at. Someone then spun that into Boston has interest in Holtby. No legit Bruins insider has talked about it, no one at the national level has talked about it. It's not a legitimate rumor.

You’re gonna have to do a better job of separating “random blogger,” from, “rumor mill.”

Of course the bruins don’t want holtby, and especially not for a d man. This trade is all sorts of wrong.
