Team Explanation
Kind of a paranoid/crazy post… I had a dream the other night that the Blackhawks traded Boqvist and Kirby Dach at the draft for Seth Jones. Not realistic, but it was a pretty bad dream and I’m nervous about what happens tomorrow.

It's not good, but I do think he'll be better with CHI than with CBJ. He was hung out to dry. I also wish it was someone else than Boqvist, but to be honest I've been saying puck moving Dmen are easier to find than the 2-way defense 1st dman. We were going to lose one of the prospects. Again. Wish is wasn't him, but...got to give to get.

Could have gave Hamilton 9.5 million on the open market and kept Boqvist. This is just terrible asset management.

I actually prefer Jones over Hamilton. Hamilton isn't very good defensively. He has Slavin Peace and Skjei that can all play defense. Hamilton was allowed to sell out offensively.

BUT I hear ya in asset management between the two options

Do you like Jones 2 1sts, Boqvist, and a 2nd better?

Paid too many assets and too much cap hit. Don't like how Bowman has panicked or alternatively let Toews and or Kane dictate how to run the team. We should have stayed the course and focused on the young kids, prospects and draft picks. That Jones contract is not going to look good as he enters into his 30s....he plays a punishing game and that puts miles on a player.

As for the rest, Johnson is an upgrade to Kampf but age and cap hit don't justify.

Hinostroza walking to sign the enforcer from the oilers doesn't make sense either, speed is more important and forchecking and Hino has that in spades.

Letting a proven good player in Suter go was a mistake for the cap hit he was asking for. Should have moved Strome and kept Suter who is way more versatile

Betting on Borgstrom, Nylander and or Gaudette, none have proven much in the NHL yet, is risky. One should emerge, two if we are lucky, but giving up Hino wasn't needed.
