Personally I would love to give you Darren helm for a right handed winger prospect if your looking for a combo winger center who can do pk and shut down.

If the leafs acquired Vatanen there would be no need to sign Shattenkirk. Certainly not a good use of 7 million cap space.

Best D in the league? Well does St Louis have it with Shattenkirk? Do the Ducks have it will Vatanen. Zaitsev and Hyman get more $$$, do the cap would be close for next year.
Why give up so much for Landeskog? He's not that special where spending 5.6m gets you a lot of player.
Although it doesn't matter. Horton is on LTIR, but he actually costs a team real $$$$$ to pay him. No other team would take him. Why do you think the CBJ made the Clarkson trade with the Leafs?

For a second round pick they might...far from the important part of the trade.

Yes, I think Gardiner/Reilly/Vatanen/Shattenkirk/Zeitzev would be the best D in the league. All 5 undoubtedly top 4 guys, and 4 would be top 2 on most teams. That's depth.
