Lost Patrick and Myers in a trade we won.
Lost 1st round pick in a bad draft that was totally unpredictable.
Still have:
Provorov
Sanheim
Hart
Konecny
Frost
Farabee
York
Foerster
Brink
Ustimenko
Ersson

Think our future is ok.

future? what are you talking about we gave up no prospects in any of these deals. We trade picks- these guys might not even pan out. Look at our prospect pool, I think our future is fine.

How did the flyers mortgage their future? Still have their 1st round picks in the next two draft, still have all of their prospects (frost, York, zamula, forester) and the only roster player they traded have been replaced or were players that were not in the lineup on a regular basis (Hagg Ghost)

Patrick, Myers, and pick 13 are 3 fairly high end young players out the door, plus two 2nds. York, Frost, and Foerster are good but there’s not an overwhelming amount of depth to the system after that. And Couturier, Hayes, Giroux, Atkinson, and JVR are all 28+ (last 3 are 32+) so they’re exiting/have exited their prime before their prospects can fully enter theirs. There’s maybe a 2 year overlap where the old guys are still good and the young guys are contributors before the old guys fall off and the young guys take over, but without a supporting cast.

I mean at one time I'd agree that Patrick was a big piece but it is clear that he no longer was for this team. Myers sure had good upside but we replace him with ellis/risto so I would rather have a finished product then the hopes that someone reaches that finished product

Patrick is damaged goods and might never find his niche, Myers was a product that was in the works, he will never have hit to be an ellis type player. The 13th pick is 3-4 years away from playing, we then trade 2nds where these players might never be what these final products are. We still have first round picks for the next 2 years + cap space

That 13th pick was worthless in this COVID draft. Buffalo drafted a guy ranked 125 or something bc every teams scouts were guessing.

Patrick wasn’t going to work here.
Myers was the cost of doing business to get Ellis
The flyers sucked last year bc they had TOO MANY young players and this make over only cost them one good one: Myers.
