Would cost a lot more than that to take Carter from Hexy and then give salary on top of it. Not to mention being a hated rival, it’d probably cost the most for Philly to do it. So they aren’t likely trade partners. I mean just trading for a 7th D at the end of his career took getting a 3rd team involved as a middle man lol

Pittsburgh acquired Carter for center depth, mostly because of Malkin's knee injury. Now Malkin will be out for at least the start of the season, if not more. There is no way Pittsburgh makes this deal.
