I just dont see how a contender will trade a top 6 player for futures. Makes no sense

No we're not interested in futures. We're trying to win now. The only thing beaus being dealt for is an upgrade. I dont know whats so hard to understand about that.

Agreed.

On another note, was surprised to see you guys grab Boucher, and us with McTavish. Didn't see either of those picks coming.

Yep. And if we got a top-6F upgrade elsewhere Beau only goes for a top-4 LD. Period.

If the Islanders are trying to move out Beau for another big fish, it would make sense and appears fair to me.

I'm working under the assumption one of Tarasenko/Landy is acquired and Palms also found his way back somehow. There will be a regular that has to go. At that point, LD is our only hole

Why does someone have to go? Lee landy and beau on the left and wally bailey and palms on the right

In nine years Marc Bergevin never traded a first round pick what makes you think he'll do it this year. Depending on your standing you could be trade a top 5 pick or top 20 pick this team is too unpredictable to trade a first round pick.
