Wild say no. They aren't trading greenway to take on Josh drouin, and his trash contract especially when drouin has zero value, and in a cap problems world especially for wild, they aren't going to take on cap dump like drouin and his contract . Don't know how you have wild giving up better pick also

Kings say no. They just traded a 2nd for Lemieux They have zero reason's to trade Lemieux for cap dump no team wanted to take on 2x he passed through waivers

That's the equivalent of 3rd overall, 16th overall, a (likely) late round first, and a 2nd, for a player who wants out and has health concerns.
Since their (rumoured) asking price was in the area of 4(!) first round picks, this is actually pretty close in terms of approximate value.
It depends on whether you believe KK can develop into a good 1st/2nd line pivot if given closer to 20 minutes a night and a longer leash.

That said, I don't see this trade happening. They will take less from another team that is willing to give up their "Suzuki".

Saying KK has the value of 3OA is like saying Suzuki has the value of 13OA or Caufield has the value of 15OA. If Montreal took Tkachuk at 3OA then this offer wouldn't be far off but they didn't.

At this point I'm not sure KK is worth more than the 2022 1st.

True, but players drafted higher overall typically hold more value and get more opportunities to succeed, because they have higher potential. You likely aren't getting top 10 picks from the team Eichel goes to, so you're going to have to reach for prospects already drafted in that range to have a chance at extracting full value. It's a gamble with a better chance of paying off than a mid-late round future selection.

Good thing about having your own picks is you get the full 8 years of team control whereas with KK you only get 4 more years. If they trade Eichel they will need as many years of team control as they can get.

I'm sure there is a better fit out there, but no 1 player is going to be able to help Buffalo recover anyway. If you can get a F and D with high potential, I say take it and run. Anything else is a bonus.

If you have to rely on team control to keep players, all the trades in the world aren't going to help.

Yes no 1 player will help Buffalo recover but that doesn't mean they shouldn't try to get as much as possible from Eichel. I'd rather have Eichel than KK and the only other useful piece is the 2023 1st. Guhle they'd have to trade and I'm pretty sure they don't get 16OA by flipping him.

I'd consider Suzuki and a 1st, Caufield, 2 1sts and a 2nd or 4 1sts. Any less and it's just not worth it.

It's not unreasonable for a healthy player that the GM wants to move. I'm only saying the price has to be lower for a player that wants out and requires surgery before he can even be properly evaluated.

Reports are that Eichel has been skating and looking good in practice.

I don’t disagree with what you are saying but even so this offer isn't enough. If Buffalo was willing to take that for Eichel the deal would have been made a long time ago.

The Wild offered Rossi and Brody and Buffalo wanted more. Can't see them taking KK and Guhle instead.

Eichel still has a herniated disk afaik. He wants to have a surgery, which Buffalo denied. I don't think he is going to be any happier on a different team if they don't let him do it either.

As for the value of Eichel proposed here, it's at least in the ballpark (three 1sts and a 2nd). The quantity and quality are there, it's more a matter of preference. I assume you meant Boldy and Rossi? That's a similar proposal. You aren't getting any guarantees with either package.
If you want a safer bet, look for a Johanssen/Jones type one-for-one swap.

Johansen for Eichel 1 for 1? Your value is way off buddy.

If you offer the package in this post for Johansen Nashville accepts with no questions asked.

Jones got more than what you offered here and Eichel is by far the better player.

If you seriously think this is a fair offer for Eichel your grossly undervaluing him.

We're talking about when Johanssen was 24 and traded for Jones (who was a couple years younger).
