Not enough for Dvorak. Mysak or Tuch would have to be added at the very least.

Too much for Dvorak... Go and sign Wennberg at a cheaper deal or go get Thierney in Ott or go get Getzlaf for 2 year... Until KK can be a solid 2C.
Great at D with the Addition of Montour & Savard.,, right price IMO.

So you want Arizona to trade you a top-6 center/forward in return for three futures that won't actually reach the NHL until Christian Dvorak's current contract expires? Wouldn't they do better to use him for the next four years instead of having to replace him for that period AND wait for the picks to mature into real players? Would trading Jeff Petry for three similar futures make sense?

I understand this point but I don’t think it’s the same. Arizona is clearly selling off and trying to rebuild. They may want some prospects instead of just picks but I do think Arizona wants futures

Mysak is a future. Brook is a future. Guhle is a future. Norlinder is a future. Kiss-my-ding-off is a future. Those draft picks are over the horizon.

No sane GM is going to trade away four years of a top-6 forward and wait four years for the return. You wouldn't trade Jeff Petry away and wait four years for the pay-off, would you?

It has nothing to do with "rebuilding"; it has to do with whether or not you have an internal replacement for the player you're trading away to take his place (even temporarily or inadequately) while the "futures" mature.

I mean they did just trade away OEL and Garland for what??? Not one immediate replacement. Like I don’t think just 3 draft picks get it done but I do think the coyotes will consider a deal from a team that gives them the strongest return in future help (either prospect or maybe a 1st/2nd rounder) with maybe one roster ready player

By definition, Dylan Guenther is two years ahead of the 2023 first and probably more than three years ahead of the 2022 third in this trade, so Yes, Arizona got something considerably more immediate, especially when you contrast Dvorak's status as a part of Arizona's expected future with Garland and OEL, who were clearly considered NOT a valuable element of the team going forward (both as a result of their contract situations, not any on-ice value).

My point remains: Dvorak, Schmaltz, Keller, Hayton, Chychrun, Soderstrom = all form the future core (however small) of the Coyotes. I don't see Arizona trading any of them unless (a) they get something immediate back, and (b) it's an overpay.

Ya I mean not going to argue with that. Like if he’s in the plans for the future that’s a different story. This isn’t my cap friendly but I have seen a lot of rumours of Dvorak’s name being out there. Tbh if I am Arizona unless they are actually trying to lose then I am keeping him

Dvorak's name appears frequently in CF ACGMs, 99% of which are created by fans of other teams who realize how well he would fit in on their teams. Contract negotiations with Garland became so contentious that ultimately it led to Arizona's desire to move him. I don't think a similar incentive exists for the Coyotes to discard Dvorak. Look at how small their core of actually decent players is. Other than the five I named in my preceding post and one-year-remaining Darcy Kuemper, they don't have anyone you'd pay more than a second for. I think that we've seen the end of Arizona's selling.

Dvorak is not a top six C on a contender. He is a great 3rd liner though.

This is what happens when you play in Arizona. You don't get the credit you deserve as a player. The guy is extremely underrated and is more than competent offensively and brings very strong defense. Pretty much another Eriksson Ek.

He's a 2nd line center (or can be on the wing on some teams) on most every team. I'd have him above KK on MTL as he directly replaces Danault.

All in all, a very valuable center on a really good contract who should see fantastic numbers on a team that gives him a shot.

He scored 31 points with over 18 minutes of ice time a game. Did so playing with skilled guys like Kessel and/or Keller mostly. Yes Arizona sucked. That is because they had players playing more ice time than their skills warranted. Dvorak was one of those guys.
