Team: 2021-22 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 27, 2021
Published: Jul. 27, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Hughes, Petterson, Garland, Dickinson contracts all based off predictions. Hamonic signing happens same way as last year to maximize LTIR usage so thay don't sign him until Ferland goes on LTIR and they sign him for $3.5 million. Elliot gets overpaid on a 1 year deal to come to Vancouver.

I still don't like the defense but the forwards are not too bad at all. The Canucks likely make the playoffs in a very weak Pacific next year no matter what they do. And there is room to resign Boeser, Rathbone, and Motte next year. The following year when Hughes, Petterson, Horvat, and Miller will be rough. 1 of those 4 probably leaves through UFA or is traded.

Note, the cap space is actually fine. Just for some reason it's counting Holtby twice.

Additional Details:
Boston doesn't have much in the way of dead money to move besides maybe Coyle. I don't think Vancouver has any interest in him or he has any interest in Vancouver. The additional 2nd is just a reflection based on trades for defenceman last few days.

The good people of Boston are currently on their lunch breaks, give them a few minutes and the pitchforks will be out!

Personally I think that's asking a bit much for Schmidt, I think he would have already been traded if a similar offer had been presented.

Alright…this is okay. This is the first of 10,000 schmidt to boston proposals that i think is well thought out and makes some sense. Well done.

Trying to even out the money. Not easy to do when everyones contract on a team actually make sense or are below market value. Could swap that second out for third. Personally I'd ask for the 2nd though and settle on a 3rd.

Sounds reasonable to me. Actually the trade may be good enough as is, I didn't realize Moore was making 2.75
