Not to mention that Savard took a discount to go home to Montreal. He was asking closer to $4.25M on the open market. Toronto would never have had the cap to sign him

I think Savard would have been a great acquisition, but if we are looking at the big picture his contract would bite us in the ass later on.

Or how about just have Dermott play instead of Holl 🤷‍♂️

If they don’t add a LW to the top 6 keeping Justin freaking Holl was a mistake over McCann

I guess this is a thing non-hockey or non-coaches just don't get (I definitely don't), but teams apparently would never go with all left-hand shots in their top 4 d. For better or worse, Holl was always going to be their guy. I guess we will see how it plays out.
