Kinda related question : will the bonus overages carry over next season if we're over the cap? In my mind it has to be paid this season because that's the bonus from last year. So it's treated just like any other cap hit that's committed for this season

Any performance bonuses that are earned this year will automatically become bonus overages for next year, because of Weber’s LTIR. (The only way that wouldn’t be the case is if Romanov, Suzuki, or Caufield sustain a long-term injury.)

No. The overages are included in the calculations, just like the players cap hits and Alzner’s buyout cap hit.
