Dubois is way better then K.K, but K.K cheaper to keep.
Dourin works well with Domi so that works for Columbus.
maybe more is needed, but not much.
This is what I would wish for.

Zero chance Winnipeg even looks at this deal. They're not giving up their 1B center just months after finally getting him for a guy with 3C max potential and a first. After this season if Dubois won't re-sign the Jets will look at moving him, but not now and not for an underwhelming return.

I mean they'd be getting a top 6 center back in this scenario so they're not losing anything.

So, Dubois who has proven that he can play as a 1C and handle the duties exceptionally well, is not a true top 6 center. But, Kotkaniemi who has never shown he can handle more that light 3C duties at best is somehow a true top 6 center.

It sounds like your evalution is more based on a dislike of Dubois for whatever reason than actual objective evalution.

I think Kotkatniemi has way more upside then Dubois does, at this point we can't really look at what was given up for Dubois, can't see the Jets getting anymore then this for him if they did look at moving him, dont think the Jets will though, don't see the Habs making that trade either.

My point was selling low. Not whether the jets should take this. It is selling low, no matter what. Laine didn’t have a great year either. Let’s give them both a full season and re-evaluate

3C max potential come on, really sounds like you just don't like Kotkatniemi.

The Habs might take a down turn and that pick could be a good one! Kotkatniemi has huge upside, is two years younger and will be cheaper for a bit longer then Dubois will.

Well what has he done to give any indication he will be anything more? Career average of 30 points a season, can't hold the 3C spot on a team with poor center depth, healthy scratch. What makes him a top 6 center?

All I see is a guy who, if everything goes his way will be an average 3C. Nothing he's done gives any indication he'll get anywhere near what Dubois is now.
