I think trading two of our best defensive depth forwards for picks is a bad plan. Mikheyev and Engvall can frustrate teams defensively and I think would be effective with Kampf, then Spezza, Simmonds and Kase could be a really nice depth offensive line. Ritchie and Bunting with the top 2 and this team could he really good. I do like Liljegren in with Dermott. I am not sure Sandin deserves a spot over Dermott.

Problem is right now, someone has to go to be cap compliant. Its either those two or kerfoot to be cap compliant and as far as I can see, dumbas is not trading kerfoot

I see the lineup much like this. But you certainly could start the season with Engvall on the Leafs and Robertson with the Marlies and be cap compliant.
It would be shame to lose Mikheyev. He can do a lot of lot of things, well last he couldn't score. But for 1.6m he is a lot better than most teams 4th liners and some teams 3rd liners.
There is something about many people of CF who think the Leafs bottom enders are so bad, and other teams bottom enders are so good.

I really don't see how we could be cap compliant with those two on the roster. Right now I have a 22 man squad ans less that 600k room. I dont know if taxi squads are being used this year, but I wouldn't count on it. So we do need more than 20 men on the roster
