Description
So I made next years lineup using the current roster for picks and all. Basically at the deadline, sell on guys like hunwick, polak, Laich, Michalek and smith. In the offseason before the expansion draft the Komarov and Martin trade. At the entry draft the JVR and Bozak Deals.

Now the line up I have shown is in my opinion excellent on left and right defensman. Two goalies that are more than capable of producing a reliable tandem. Right wing loaded with talent. Centre position loaded with talent. Our weakness would be LW. I think the bottom 3 wingers in Grundstrom, Leivo and Brown are solid. Rychel is the only but a big IF. The Matthews and Marner line needs a need front presence and someone that can do the dirty work. Rychel is that type of player. If he pans out, Great. Otherwise, draft two of Comtois, Strome or Vaselainen. All are prototypical power forwards that should compliment the line and solidify our group for 8-10 years with really only kadri needing to be replaced in say 4-5 years.

This team can definitely compete next year and within 2 years be a perennial cup threat like Chicago was.

the flames aren't giving away Hamilton for anything anytime soon. Since he was paired with Giordano he has been the best flames defenceman. I agree with most of the other stuff though

I like the Calgary trade, just don't see the flames going for it. I don't see anaheim taking that package, I think they would want JVR for one of their d, Uncle Leo has taken a step back this year. I hope the leafs can something back for some pending UFAs and focus on next season. The worst thing you have here is the martin trade, why sign martin for 4 years if your going to trade him right away, why would free agents then sign with us if they may get flipped the next year, that would hurt our chances of luring future free agents.
