Description

People say that got a lot worse, but I think they still have a good team. Freddie will play behind a great defensive team so that certainly helps him.

Explanation for Gardiner trade: Kings need a mobile LD who can play top 4. Also they have cap space to afford him without having to give up anything major

Canes don't really need another bottom 6 forward at this point but I think the deal is fine. Gardiner is rumored to be getting another back surgery tho so I doubt teams will want him and Canes could just LTIR him. Seems like that's what the Canes medical staff has recommended but Gardiner doesn't want to go that route.

Kings have no room for additional defensemen.

No one thinks Raanta or Andersen are bad goalies, just injury prone. The team downgraded from Dougie to DeAngelo so it's hard not to feel like the team made a loss defensively.
