EP should get that on his bridge. If he’s looking long term there’s very little incentive for him to take less than 10.

There's no way he gets more than Point on a long-term deal. Plus even if he gets a bridge, it will be a tad more than Barzal so 7.something.

That’s a reasonable comp, but Petey is notably better than Barzal and Point took a discount. I think there are 31 teams that would make at least 10 mil for him for join their team.

If a team is serious about winning a cup why would they sign any player (let alone multiple like the leafs) to a 10m+ contract. no team with a 10m player has a won the cup. it simply eats up to much of the cap space. you wind up with maybe 2 good lines and the rest are either old vets or cheap young guys. I cant see Ep40 getting Rantanen $$ EP40 hasnt cracked 30g in a season or been the same level of PPG that Mikko has.

Point took less, and also plays in Tampa Bay where the taxes are lower. His current contract is the equivalent of $10.5 million in Vancouver, and that’s not even including the discount he took.
