Don't see Greenway fetching a 1st at that number unless he has a killer few years.

Glad you made this, saves me from replying to you in the other thread. It also illustrates what I was going to say to you perfectly.

With all the youth coming in on ELCs and likely signed to cheap bridge contracts to see them through the heaviest dead cap years this team will be fine.

However, you're forgetting that Zuccarello changes to a M-NTC after this season, so could then be moved far easier than he could before. Granted, it'll cost Guerin to do so. But after playing with Kaprizov for another year, that cost should be alleviated, somewhat.

Additionally, Wallstedt should be ready for at least a backup spot by 23-24. Brossoit isn't necessary.

Banking on that he plays pretty well, as he has recently. Wouldn't be the stupidest thing that has happened.

Not as a starter no. But he should be ready to wet his whistle as a backup in the NHL by that point.

Sure, dumping cap is possible, but likely also quite costly.

If Wild is looking to compete, I wouldn't trust a Kähkönen-Wallstedt tandem just yet. I'd want someone a bit more established in net. Wallstedt could play AHL 1G and a third goalie in case of injuries.

Wallstedt's projected timetable to the NHL is 2-3 years. Even on the conservative side it's still only 3-4. Given his talent level, he should be pressing to make the lineup by then.

Kahkonen would be around 27 by that point as well. If by the off chance that Wallstedt isn't ready, I gotta think we only sign someone for 1 year, not 2. Hunter Jones is already an internal option to take that spot if he's not being shipped for Hertl via that other thread we were talking in.

That's fair. I reckon Talbot might be an option to re-sign for one more year. He's 36 at that point, so he might have a year on him left by the point this contract expires.

Kaprizov asking

IT HAS. MY GOD. Boba, no more tweets in my mentions. Tired of you filling up my timeline. This is like 50 tweets. And if you know what Kaprizov has asked for on a short to mid-range deal, you'd change your tune completely
