LD revamp

Created by: UBS_ARENA
Team: 2021-22 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 13, 2021
Published: Aug. 13, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
ARI
Could go to anyone that's interested in a cap dump.
CHI
Also could go to anyone who wants Leo at 1.5. Would like to deal him out of conference. It also lets us recoup some assets while saving us money (only 375k tho if we would bury him).
TOR
The 1st and Bellows for Rielly, 3rd and 5th for Dermott and the 7th.
ARI
A 3rd is moved to retain on Rielly. Could go to any team willing.
CHI
They get a solid bottom 6 guy at a great price for 2 years and give up a 3rd. Could go to any team interested.
ANA
2 2nds for a solid 2 way rental winger who hasn't hit 20 goals in 3 years.

27-13-26
Great line, Wahlstrom will hopefully be everything Eberle was plus he'll be stronger on the puck and a more consistent scorer.

18-29-67
A really solid 2 way line that has some great offensive potential as well.

21-44-12
A checking line that's great offensively as well. The best 3rd line in the league.

17-53-15
Trotz's favorite line, they are the heart and soul of the team. Even tho the Cizikas contract isn't gonna age well, is still worth it IMO.

44-6
A great 2 way defenseman with an offensive defenseman, this pair has some great potential. And if pulock can refind his offensive game this could be a top pair in the league.

3-8
An awesome 2nd pair, pelech is a legit 1st pair dman. Dobson gets top 4 minutes with a partner out seems was created especially for him. Great defensively, doesn't put up a ton of points but has really good puck skills and is very smart.

X23-24
Just like the 2nd pair, another great fit. Dermott doesn't have to play high pressure situations but can develop nicely. He plays with a reliable partner, a veteran who isn't afraid to do the dirty work and is tough as they come. He's a 2 way dman, and is the type of guy that will fit great with Mayfield, covering both their weaknesses and playing to both their strengths.

Well, unfortunately for you, the Leafs don’t have interest in your offer either.

Given the market for defensemen, the Leafs could do much better elsewhere.

Ok good luck with that. Just out of curiosity, which team would want to trade for him at this point.

Dermott is here as a safety net if we trade Rielly no way we trade both in a single trade without a dman coming back. 2 that package I wouldn't even want for Rielly let alone both and we aren't restraining on rielly

Minimum a Reilly trade for be a 1st, a dman who can play atleast 2nd pair minuites who's not stupid with the puck and a prospect that the leafs staff like.

If you would've read both the trade decision either in that trade box or in the big description you would've seen that Toronto isn't retaining but good try.

Your saying it like bellows and a 1st and 2 middle picks would be the best offer lol

Ok so who is gonna trade more for a rental bc nobody wants to extend him if its gonna cost 9+? Who even needs a top 4 LHD this year that's willing to give a 1st and a prospect. Plus remember Ekholm is also potentially on the market.

Lots of teams wants a top pair picking moving PP quarter back dman when the LD UFA pool is weak iirc. Only Rielly and Lindholm I think. If no one is extending him then no team is going to sign him by what your saying. A 1st and a prospect was the value before the market went nuts

Personally, I don't think a dramatic revamp on the left side is needed.

Get a guy that could be a stop gap for a couple years, someone like ekholm is perfect but he'd probably cost too much.

Guys like Salo and Buldoc might be ready by 2022/23 season. If we're lucky both will pan out and the left side is set.

Which other team is gonna be willing top pay the price you want? The only team that's contending that has a big hole at top 4 LHD is the islanders. I don't see any other teams that have a whole and want to win this year. Also teams might give on either money or trade value but not both.
