Kassian > Mikehyev

I’d give kass every opportunity to bounce back. If he regains his form he could be a MASSIVE part of a deep playoff run. Also I’d want him in the lineup for every battle of Alberta to neutralize that turtle they have down there.

Overpay for Puljujarvi, Mikheyev and NYR's 6th round pick.

i just gave Pulju something in a 4.5-5.5 range i could probably put it down to like 4.75 if needed. I really like mikheyev as a player, solid defensive guy and is also fast. i dont see how that is an overpay to get rid of kassian, dude has showed that hes not really good at much of anything and has a huge contract.

- Puljujarvi hasn't done anything to indicate he's worth $4M+ with term. I like the player, but that's the fact.
- Mikheyev is fast and decent defensively, exactly like Ryan McLeod, but he has stone hands which have only gotten worse since his wrist injury. $2M is too much for a 4th liner.
- Kassian had a poor year, but he wasn't healthy either. He's paid like a 3rd liner and can contribute much more than that when healthy. No need to give up a very good prospect to move him, it's a massive overpay and an unforced error. There are 30-odd teams that want Kassian's physicality even if he didn't have great hands and above average skating abilities.
