I dont think we will get Strome for some stuff we don't want. There is little value going back to the hawks. Why do they do this? We would have to give up prospects we would prefer to keep, hilis and a third isnt enough and kulak is a dump

i like vatanen a lot and "if" he is healthy thats a good contract and he provides offence, he unfortunately is easily injured.

Honestly don't think it makes much sense to add Vatanen. You have Wideman that likely is signed to provide the same thing and he is on a league min deal. As for the trade to Chicago, it doesn't help them at all. They have a logjam on defense, and adding another defenseman won't help that. I think Chicago move Strome to LW in their top 9 rather than trade him and Have Borgström as 3C.

Vatanen would be a upgrade on Wideman by a healthy margin. At this point in the offseason you probably can have Vatanen for 1 million or less and he was a guy competently playing top pair mins just a couple seasons ago. Wideman is a pretty big wild card where the payoff is a decent bottom pair guy. Plus his deal is buryable.

Vatanen isn't close to what he once was anymore unfortunately, I mean sure, he could be an upgrade on Wideman, but very marginally.
