Backlund is a bonified middle six centre why not give up the overpaid monahan instead, Backs is the Best

BOS needs a second line center desperately, and he could be a good fit. CAL can keep Lauko and Parsons, cause BUF has no interest in mid tier prospects, as they have enough of those. Zary would need to be included

Well, they need a good second line center. Not sure this fits.

IMO he's a better option than Charlie Coyle........

But you're right, he wouldn't be my first choice

Maybe a hair better. But that kind of upgrade doesn’t make a difference, and isn’t really worth it.

Either way, he was just used in this trade to clear cap for Eichel, in an underwhelming offer where the Flames really don't give up a whole lot........
