Description

With 5 second round picks, and potentially more coming in from a Dvorak trade, why not use some of them on proven NHL players, in both cases you either get a good player for fair comp or force EDM and VGK to make tough decisions elsewhere on the roster.

Part of the issue with OS is you need to get the player to sign it. Aho signed his because it was easy for Carolina to match and he got a truckload of bonus money. Kotkinemi signed his because MTL pissed him off by not playing him in the finals, and Carolina is an excellent team.

With all the uncertainty with where Arizona will end up and the guarantee of them being awful on the ice, why would a young player sign up to play there? Yamamoto may end up making more money after playing with Draisaitl for a few more years too.

It's weird cause we actually got more than what I proposed. Gonna miss Dvo but will enjoy having a pick that is hopefully in the lottery

Nah... both picks are lottery protected (and i think ARI gets the latest pick of the two)

*Conditions: The better of Montreal/Carolina's 2022 1st round pick BUT if either or both are top 10 picks then Montreal will instead transfer to Arizona the worse of Montreal/Carolina's 2022 1st round pick.
