LA says no as well. The Kings right side looks good right now, and Faber and Clarke are both a season or two away from the NHL. They have no interest in moving either of Roy or Walker.

Don't think they'd do Vilardi for Brannstrom 1-for-1 either.

Grans is even further away. He looks like he could be a quality defenseman, but he's a step below Faber and will probably be at least a year or two behind him entering the NHL. He will likely need several years in the AHL.

I mean that’s fair. There was always talks about him being more of a project even before he got drafted

Absolutely. I don't think anyone is disappointed with his career trajectory. If he breaks into the NHL before his ELC expires at age 23, I think everyone will be satisfied.

Yeah I just think if you look at players picked around him and the hype around them too, you hope he becomes a low end 2nd pairing guy at least

I'm guessing the OP made a mistake and meant Logan instead of Connor? No chance Ottawa moves Connor Brown this season, even minus Brannstrom and for that package. If they do, it's probably next off-season or during the 2022-23 season, but I would be surprised if they don't extend him. He's a quintessential player for DJ Smith and the current make up of the team.

If it's Logan and not Connor, Ottawa would then be interested in the trade.

Walker could help solidify the RD in Ottawa, which I think is the current weakness in the organization

Vilardi would be welcomed. He's a bit of a reclamation project like Brown but 1 year younger and has actually been less injury prone recently (which says a lot lol). Hi dad wouldn't be complaining like Jeff Brown so a breath of fresh air for Ottawa. He has more value than Logan but Brannstrom has a lot more than Walker too so I think the overall value is fair.

Not sure why LA would do that though, they would have to have a serious need for a LD like Brannstrom. But like the Sens, Kings have a very deep and diversified prospect pool so they probably don't need to make that kind of trade. So these teams are probably not ideal trading partners.

I know that's where Cap Friendly has him but it's a mistake. Brannstrom might never play RD in the NHL, at least not in Ottawa as the organization previously stated a few times. This is why he is actually available. If he was a real RD, he wouldn't be in trade proposals. Lassi Thomson would.

I'm not suggesting that Brannstrom is a RD. However, Walker and Roy are both RD, and trading one of them away would open a gap in the Kings' roster, which they're not currently inclined to do.

The only reason why LA would even consider trading for Brannstrom is due to the fact that he is a LHD. The Kings would be interested in him, but not at the cost of Vilardi and Walker or Roy.

Sens don't have to trade Brannstrom now as Sanderson will still be in college this year. But I guess if they did, it would be maybe for a center with upside or a RD with size
