Brady Will Be In Camp

Created by: Rooster
Team: 2022-23 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 9, 2021
Published: Sep. 9, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
It's not uncommon for an RFA to cut it so close to training camp. This deal will get done soon. And a year from now we are battling for a playoff spot. I'm moving Brannstrom to his preferred RD for this scenario. An offer sheet to Carolina for fun.

He’s shaping up to be. Definite 1C or 2C. I figured Nugent-Hopkins money was comparable and reasonable.

Stutzle would be the other centre then?

Great question. I'm not sure how long the Sens will let him develop at LW and when he'll make the transition to C. He has the potential to play both.

Learn from MTL mistake. If you’re gonna OS at least make it a good one. This is just pointless.

Erik Brannstrom won't ever play RD in Ottawa. This has been explained and repeated by Pierre Dorion and others (DJ Smith too I think). Unless Brannstrom changes their minds soon, you can forget it

This is also the reason why Brannstrom seems to be available because the LD side will get too crowded with purebreds Chabot, Sanderson and Kleven

I'd also hate to sign Norris only 5 years.

I don’t get it to be honest. It’s his preferred side even though he’s left handed, and Ottawa is weaker on the RD. And they just signed Del Zotto because he can play either side.

I don't have the link but it was on a podcast this summer when Dorion explicitly explained why they don't like Erik Brannstrom on the right side. It was very technical and was related to his backhand IIRC. Would have to listen to it again to tell you exactly but don't want to be factually wrong.
