Offseason draft and team outlook

Description
As someone who wants noting more for the coyotes to stay in Arizona, they are entering the most important time of their history. This upcoming season, I believe we will witness one of the worst tanks in recent memory. Everyone is for sale outside of future captain Chychurn. I think they will finish dead last and this is what I would love to see.

Drafting Shane Wright is the biggest piece of this upcoming season. Need to save a franchise? Trade one of the best prospects since Matthews. You'll probably still be bad enough the following year for the next Connor Mcdavid in Bernard too. Having Wright adds fans right away, as his skill can't be denied and will have a clean sheet of ice to work around a team desperate for offence.

The second is drafting well, with a ridiculous amount of picks, they need to hit. This is the deepest draft since mcDavids and you need to hit. Every first round player has the chance to be a top 6 forward or top 4 D. Don't miss.

The offseason, they will need to over pay. Getting players coming off big contracts to reward them with short large contracts will help attract players. I would target Kessel, Nederrider, Acciari for some scoring. All guys who would love a pay raise even though they don't deserve it necessarily. I would even target trading for Bob. I fully expect Knight to replace him as the number one this season and Florida will not want to pay their backup 10 million. Having him traded off with assets makes sense for Arizona, as they can start him 60 - 65 plus games.

So to summarize, draft a generational talent at any cost, use the reaming picks to build a future contender, and spend during the offseason to keep fans entertained and the team compeative before the draft capital pays off.

I think trading for Bob is smart. He obviously needs to waive to go to Arizona, but it is not like AZ is the worst place to live in either. Convincing him will be the hard part. He will eat a good bunch of your cap until the team is ready to move out of the rebuild. Someone like Vlasic would make sense too. He is a great pro that has had a great career and can mentor the young guys coming through. He is obviously not a $7M defenseman, but he can still play at the NHL level on a third pairing. Will probably be beneficial to someone like Söderström. Just like Bob, he has a NMC, so you will have to convince him to come. I am sure the Sharks would love to get out of that contract. That would at least be a good start to eat up some cap during the rebuild. I'd prefer them to go that route rather than offering guys like Cole $4M as that would send a message to the league that you can come to Arizona if you want to make money. Not sure if that is good for team spirit.

It will be a long and painful road, but if Arizona does it right, they can come out looking exciting like Ottawa and LA does now.

They could get a lot of good assets to take on bob.

Exactly, same with someone like Vlasic. There are other teams out there that in a year time will need to dump a contract. I am looking at Florida with Hörnqvist, Calgary with Lucic, Colorado with Johnson, Edmonton with Keith, and Vegas with Dadonov to name a few. I am not saying that Arizona should get all these players, but a few of them would be good. Hörnqvist, Lucic, Johnson and Keith are all good veterans too that the young kids can learn from.

True but holland just traded for keith hes not moving him. Hornqvist will return assets imo so hes out. Johnsons a good one but every flames fan on here insists they arent looking to move lucic so idk.

Arizona is in the Central Division now. Yea, Bob might consider retiring in Sun City, but the Coyotes have the worse travel schedule in the league.
A poor team with a terrible travel schedule doesn't entice players.
