Wouldn't the goal be for Ottawa to retain $ on a deal like that though? I don't get it otherwise. Brown isn't much of an upgrade over ruhwedel/Friedman

I could be completely wrong, but I'm assuming the goal is to dump the 2nd year of the Zucker deal to free up space for 2022/23.

I mean OTT can. For brown, hes what the pens need. a big physical dman. could be a stay home guy while matheson runs around and does matheson things

This trade would have to be approved by Eugene Melnyk

Tierney ($4,200,000) + Josh Brown ($1,400,000)

for

Zucker, Jason ($6,250,000) + Björkqvist (2-way)

If they believe Zucker could help the team THIS season, it could work BUT the problem would really be $5,200,000 for Zucker next year... Brown and Tierney will be off the books.
