Description

Predict Nemeth starts the season in the AHL. Gut feeling that Schneider out plays Nemeth, Tinordi, Jones, Robertson, Skinner, etc, in training camp. Schneider played very well at LD for Team Canada in the WJC, so look for the Rangers to eventually move Schneider to LD for the last few games of the preseason.

Signed to a three year, $2.5 mil contract. There are 18 teams listed on the opening page that don’t have $2.5 mil in cap space and another 3 teams that are under $3.2 mil in cap space.

With realistically only 9 teams (10 teams minus Vancouver) able to absorb the cap hit, Nemeth might have a good chance to slip through the waver wire with the whole herd of other players that didn’t make their teams opening night roster.

Those cap situations are very much subject to change before the beginning of the season, some pretty drastically when the season starts as people move to LTIR etc, like Gardiner for example.
