Anyway, we can give our opinion on all this but if a trade happens it will be the GMs making the decisions, good or bad. The price of the return will be determined by Tkachuk's value on the market. A 22 y/o player with his pedigree and what teams see in him, the type of impact he could have on their team... Each team will have a price in mind that they are ready to pay so it will pretty much go to the highest bidder, but maybe not as the Sens won't want to send him in the same division

I agree, and said as such, that the Blues were giving a bit too much here but at the same time I have no idea of Brady's exact value on the actual NHL market.

I can't see the sens being interested then. They will look for :

- a much younger player than Tarasenko
- a guy that has been much more healthy (and didn't miss 73% of his team's games the last 2 years)
- a guy that isn't paid 9.5 M$ this year, or if he is, who isn't a big question mark

Unless the Sens would still be getting one of Kyrou/Thomas and one of 1st/Neighbors, I don't want to make a deal with the Blues.

I thought you were explaining why Brady is crazy to ask what he wants. He 20-25/40-50 is a 2nd liner.

Svechnikov in the last two years has. 39 g and 103 pts in 123 gp. Normalized to 82 gp that's 26 goals and 69 pts

Brady 38 g and 80 pts in 127 GP
That's a similar 25 g but only 52 points. That's a massive difference.

And while Brady is a physical beast and is first in hits in the last two years with 551, svechnikov is no slouch tied for 57th with 230. The second most on Carolina.

To put there points in perspective.

Over the last two years svechnikov has 0.84 points per game.

These are the players with 0.83-0.85 ppg

Robertson, Gaudreau, Barzal, Nylander, Josi, Svech, Hedman, M tkachuk, Boeser, Debrincat

Brady has 0.63 ppg

The guys with 0.62-0.64 are
Kessel, Bailey, Smith, Kadri, Monahan, Schmaltz, Brady, Keller, Werenski, Backlund, Bunting, Pionk, and Ekblad

Compare those lists

If it's just Kyrou or Thomas going to Ottawa instead of both, that might still be more preferable instead of getting Tarasenko.



But after Kyrou or Thomas, I'd also want some combination of

1. Two firsts or

2. One first + Neighbours or Bolduc.

3. Neighbours and Bolduc but no picks.



However, the Blues would be over the cap once they sign Brady if we didn't take Tarasenko
