Opening night lineup and thoughts

Description
So I think the Leafs finally have their opening day roster. A roster that has a lot more depth than last season but also with a lot more questions. I will be interested to see when the fighters in Simmonds and Gabriel will be called into action. I will also wonder when we suffer a big injury to one of the top 4, if it is Roberston or Hosang who gets the first call.

Secondly, I want to see some youth injected into this line up. I would like to move on from Dermott to allow Lilly to come play. I would love to move on from Engvall and see Robertson play. If I could picture lines later on in the season, I would love to see this

Ritche Matthews Marner
Bunting Taverse Nylander
Robertson Kerfoot Hosang
Soup Kämpft Spezza (switch Soup and Spezza out for tough games with Simmonds and Gabriel)

Reilly Brodie
Muzzin Holl
Sandin Lilly

However, I doubt we see these lines.

Overall for the first time in a long time I am not really excited for the start of the season. Doesn't feel like much has changed and have a giant cloud over our head of what ifs? Where/what does Reilly do this season/ next? If we lose first round again who goes? Does Campbell continue where he left off? This team could realistically sell a lot of pieces at the deadline if management thinks they wont make a deep run.

How is everyone else feeling?

Personally I would rather see Bunting on the top line, also Dermott I could see for a few games but I think Lilly is ready for NHL. Looks like a solid lineup and i think they will do well this year.

Despite how brutal last year’s loss to habs was, I’m felling confident. I liked Hyman like everyone else but he was 5th best forward and 9th or 10th best player, not a devastating loss. We still have a ton of top level talent, lineup feels more balanced to me this year and we have depth. I’d switch out Kampf and Kerfoot; I don’t see 3rd or 4th lines just bottom two lines - one defensive, one more offense & no way Spezz plays with a defensive centre.

Kampf will be the 3c. He is better in the faceoff circle, plays a more complete defensive game, and just looks good next to Kase.

And with that were probs gonna see

Ritchie-Matthews-Marner
Mikheyev-Tavares-Nylander
Bunting-Kampf-Kase
Simmonds-Kerfoot-Spezza
Semyonov

Which honestly makes me think Kerfoot is gonna get traded

I mean instead of last year where it was
Jumbo
Vesey
Hyman
Soup

Now its
Ritchie>
Bunting>
Soup<
Engvall<

Im not super concerned with the left wing especially after watching ritchie bunting and especially Soup this preseason they have all looked really good.
