CLB says outright no
I don't believe LA can trade for Carter, as they still have his buyout on the books, but I could be wrong.

Ithink CBJ does it cuz i think the 1st will be around 19th ovr, and liam foudy is maybe at best ginna be a thrid line player. But i didnt even realize that the kings still had the carter buyout.

Agreed on Foudy, I think he's gonna be a heart and soul player that mostly sits in their middle 6 and might be the captain one day, but I can't see CLB moving 2 young guys for a guy who's going to be injured most of the year. They are trying to put a competitive team on the ice so that they can resign guys like Laine and attract other UFA's. And this is a deep draft. They're still gonna get a good player in and around 19.

Pit's in trouble. They don't have much in the system, and the core is aging rapidly. They made some questionable signings and trades trying for a Cup, but that division is so close right now I think both them and WSH could wind up on the outside looking in.

CBJ has to say no. They too are in a rebuilding phase and losing Foudy and this years first rounder from Chicago for half a year of Malkin will set their rebuild back enough that they wouldn't see it as worth it. Adding Bemstrom, who has finally (at least hopefully) started to put it all together this preseason, their second rounder, and a 4th is far too much to give to a divisional rival.

I will say this though: If Malkin was healthy and the Jackets were pushing for a decent playoff spot, I think they would take a deal with less retainage going back to Pittsburgh on this deal. But it would look like Foudy + Chicago/CBJ first rounder (whichever is later) + late round picks.
