or cuz Montreal is stupid we are on pace to pick first(lottery I know), when price come back with 20 or 25 games left and the team goes on a hot streak causing us to pick 11 which goes to Arizona

Montreal never goes on that magical cup run last season without the playoff experience gained from upsetting Pittsburgh 2 years ago.
Suzuki gained so much confidence from that "total and utter waste" as you put it, that it can't be quantified.
Plus time will tell but Guhle may have been the best possible outcome for the Habs from that draft, so dropping 5-6 spots in the draft may not have been a total disaster.
