Id take Brannstrom for .V.Kravstov.

I doubt the Pens organization wants 4 years of Colin White at 4.75M per. And isn’t he injured.??

brannstrom was the main piece for stone, still potential to be a top pair D but DJ smith doesnt like him lol- could thrive in NYR and krav wants out so i feel it'd work for both sides.

yeah he is right now but hes young with some top 6 potential especially for an org thats lacking future.... with sid/geno/tanger gone soon theyll have cap and roster spots, feel white would fit right in

And Sid/Geno/Letang gone soon?? Says who??

People kill me!! Both Letang and Geno said they want to resign in Pgh and Letang said he wants to retire in Black&Gold every time asked. And Hextall/Burke said repeatedly they plan on extending both.

Letang sign for 4-5 more years at around 7M extension.

And people kill me with Geno too. Hands down still a top 50 player in NHL when Healthy. A top 3-5 NHL 2nd Line Center.

Pens are/were successful b/c of having those 2 lines and 2 centers. A team just can’t throw out that defensive line against your top line every time. You basically have two top lines. And If Ovi still has gas left. Geno does too.

I don’t even understand what people talk about with Geno?? Geno had 74 points in 55 games(played a full season for that shortened 19-20 season). Was flying around.

He played on one leg last season. He had to have surgery. And still had 28 points in 33 games and was flying around on shifts, putting the puck on net, making defenders look stupid.

It would be the worst, the worst, franchise changing, asset management, mistake to just let Geno walk. It would even be bad to get rental return for him at the TD.

If, if he doesn’t return. Which would be a huge mistake imo. It has to be a sign and trade to get value back for a franchise player like Geno. Still a top line Center on most teams. On 75% of NHL teams.

You just don’t get a top, franchise center. You need a top 3, a top 5 pick and maybe 2 players from that draft become that top line Center. Maybe 2 guys. The last 2 out of 3 years drafts, top D-men were taking #1 overall too.

Not one center of even Geno’s caliber in those drafts. A franchise Center. 74 points in 55 games just in 19-20 season. Stutzle won’t have Geno career. A.Lafreniere won’t. Matt Beniers won’t. M.McTavish won’t. Q.Byfield won’t. Players like Geno just don’t come along often.

And Geno doenst need 4-5 years. The cap goes up next season and signing Geno for 2-3 seasons at 7.5M-8M(and then he goes and retires in Russia and KHL, like he says he’s gonna do; like he’s always said).

And people want Geno to sign a prove it deal…?

Ya, he’s gonna do that..??

Would the franchise make Sid do that? That would be a slap in his face. And he’s super emotional. Great team guy, very well liked by all his teammates. But emotional and rightfully so.

It’s why Sid makes sure he gives Geno shine and let’s Geno do things like be the last in warm-up line, that is usually reserved for superstars only; like Sid. Cause Sid knows. Sid understands how good Geno is and the Pens are a much, much better team with him than without.

Letang needs a 4-5 seasons deal. Probably at 7Mper. Rust at 5.5M for 4 seasons, Kappy RFA arbitration raise will get around 4M, Heinen, RFA raise around 1.75M-2M.

OConnor has no arbitration rights so 900k-1M, Friedman the same, I think his QO is 950k. Angello-RFA, 900-950k.

Sign MAF for 3.5M for 2 seasons. D.Simon resigns for 1.1M, E-Rod resigns for 1M, Ruhwedel resigns for 900K. All NHL depth. Lafferty probably gets a better opportunity and walks.

That all fits under the cap next season, and with Matheson and Zucker too. Trade one of Zucker or Matheson and get huge cap relief.

And have lines of:

Guentzel/Sid/Rust
Poulin/Geno/Kappy
OConnor/Zohorna/Legare
Heinen/Blueger/McGinn

Dumoulin/Letang
Pettersson/Marino
PO-J/Friedman or Ruhwedel

And MAF and Jarry goalie tandem.

Ya, I’ll take that team. Sens arnt competing anytime soon in my opinion. Keep winning the draft and having a top rated system(which is all subjective).

Sid just turned 34 years old. Will play atleast till 38-39 years old. That’s 4-5 more years. Sids a workout warrior; hasn’t lost a step yet. Still a top 3-5 player in all of the NHL.

Letang is 33. He plays till he is 36-37. Geno is 35. He plays 2-3 more seasons in the NHL and then plays 2 in Russia and the KHL b4 he retires. Just like he’s always said.

Sens fans love their prospects and draft time. Pens fans love the play-offs and Stanley Cup finals.

The best thing the Sens could do is unload some of those prospects/draft picks and package Murray’s contract with them and get a legit #1C in Eichel.

Ahh, I doubt Brannstrom is ever a top pairing D-man. But I hate midget D-men. But Brannstrom can play sheltered minutes/shifts and point the 2nd PP unit for sure. I would think he’s a good get for V.Kravstov.

Wtf

Zadina said that recently and there's talk of suspending him because, y'know, it's a slur against a group of people (explanation included below)

Why do you think it's okay to say that

Also the "small D struggles" thing is a fallacy

Jeeeeze

Explanation:

"The word 'm—t' is considered by Little People of America to be an antiquated slang term and is most often used in a derogatory manner toward a shorter than average person, or specifically, a person with a diagnosable skeletal dysplasia or medical condition," the statement read. The word 'm—t' has been sometimes used to refer to people of short stature, but is now considered to be a slur by the majority of the members of our community. Many feel that the term dehumanizes and objectifies those with dwarfism. LPA has been actively working to get the word taken out of society's vernacular, where it is often used carelessly and without regard to who else it may affect."

1. That Brannstrom trade is so bad for Ottawa. Eeek!

2. Arizona and Pittsburgh decline.
