Sharks say no, our forward core is set going forward and we'll just buyout Kane at the end of the season.

Yep, the buyout is not ideal but it isn't terrible. He will be almost certainly bought out and we can keep our 1st.

I think that adding Kessel would boost Sharks into certain playoff push so the first wouldn't be that big of a deal (I think the Sharks are going to be at least a second round team this year). Kessels deal ends at the end of this year. So I think it saves the Sharks a lot of time and money, rather than buying Kane out

Only way Columbus moves Johnson is if they are getting a 1st line center in return. Keller isn’t a center…

Kessel only makes 850k salary this year. Kane makes 7M this year. Kane's buyout adds 14M. The difference is about 20M of actual money.

That might not be worth Shane Wright, but it's worth something, even before the 16M of buyout cap hit.
