Would the plan be to resign Lindholm? And if so, with what cap space?

Certainly a proper offer for Lindholm but, as you say, I doubt that we're ready to move him just yet. I think that Anaheim is intending to try to re-sign him.

What do you like him at?

My ideal would be around 5-6 years x 6.5M

I think Lou might try and move our Varlamov or Bailey or both. It’s still going to be tight because they have to resign Dobson.

This likely happens at the TDL if he does not get signed.

They have 15 mils in cap space next year with Dobson as the only ”big” name to sign.

I think that as long as we stay below $7 million, it would make sense even if we have to buy a few extra years. My max would be $6.75 x 6.

He obviously owes the Isles nothing but I don't think Lou signs a defenseman for more than what he just gave Pulock ($6.15) and Pelech ($5.75). Lindholm at $5.5x8?

I don’t think he would sign that honestly

In terms of total dollars it's in line with what's been proposed above though.

$6.75x6 = $40.5m
$5.5x8 = $44m

Maybe add a NTC in there for a majority of the deal so he has some security knowing he won't be dealt. But even after 6 years in the deal above Lindholm will be 34 going on 35. How big of a contract, assuming he's still healthy/productive, is he really getting at that age?

Yeah you got me, didn’t think of that

Maybe then. Only if it’s somewhere he wants to be though I’d guess still

Yeah exactly. Whether it's Lindholm or someone else I think Lou has to address LD. If that player sticks around they have to be getting paid less than the Isles top pair

Money wise that totally makes sense
