I think you had Marner at Anderson, Poehling, and Brook. Two unprotected first round picks from a team currently in 30th place overall might be enough to add Matthews if you can get the cap to balance.

There is no chance the Leafs will be retaining on Marner for 4 years.
Especially for, not only a divisional rival, but one of their biggest rivals.

Anderson is leaning towards more of a cap dump than much else.
The prospects aren’t too exciting either. The picks are at least 2-5 years away from being able to play and the Leafs are in absolute win-now mode.

This trade seems like a quantity > quality trade, and that’s not a good trade to make when trading a player as good as Marner.

Yikes! I was trying to entice Leaf fans to keep the hatred turned down...

anderson is no more of a cap dump than marner. at this point, neither of them are producing and anderson makes half as much and is at the very least, a power forward that can move

Jesus the last thing in the world I would want is Mitch on the Habs. You've made an offer that's tough to refuse though.

Marner is in a slump.

Anderson is a streaky, inconsistent player who was outscored by 4th line Jason Spezza.

You guys treat that man like he's in much more than a slump. Listening to Toronto radio I'd of thought he was Dion Phanuef.

Leafs fans and media are irrational idiots without common sense, for the most part. Not all, but a lot.

I’ve heard countless people want to just put him on waivers, and some believe he would go unclaimed.
That’s how ridiculous it is.
