You're right, Georgiev has controllable years, but no reason to think he is a better goalie than Koskinen right now.

Koskinen has played in 5 games this year and has been good in 4 of them, good enough for a 0.934sv% with Smith on the shelf. Not sure why the Oilers would give up assets and the better goalie for a guy who's declined every year AND is off to a rough start in a back-up role this year.

If oilers are going to go with a younger guy instead of kosk wouldn’t they look internally at skinner before paying assets for a guy who clearly is a downgrade from kosk.
