Why would they retain 200k? All that would do in practice is essentially mean they could only retain on two other players per year for 2 years

so they don't go over the cap when they trade for him because if they don't retain the trade does not go through nhl you have to have enough cap then put him on ltir

Buffalo is not retaining on Eichel, especially 200k

Lucic has a NTC, he’s not coming to Buffalo. Girgensons isn’t going anywhere. Rethink this.

Zary + Pelletier. Interesting. That could make Buffalo forget about Krebs.

But you don't have a prayer if Theodore is in the mix. IMO.
