with a salary cap of course he is gallaghers contract will make him extremely hard to move.
Seattle couldve already had price if they wanted why would they now trade assets for him?

Yeah, but he's taking back the Myers contract which is far worse - at least Gallagher can still play hockey.

oh for sure and thats why theres a 3rd rounder there, the point i was making is chiarot lands you probably a 2nd at the TDL Gallagher doesnt unless theres cap coming back, therefore Chiarot is worth more to trade.

I don't agree. I think Gallagher has value even including his contract.

i dont see it. With his injury history, hes a risk to not even be playing by the back end of his contract, couple that with the fact that he is probably over paid by 1-1.5 million if he hits career best each year, i think it would be hard to justify for another team. If habs retain then sure. I think gallagher can be a great addition to a team thats making a run but none of them can take on his contract.

He's scoring at roughly a 30G per 82GP pace each of the last 4 seasons. Injury concerns aside there is probably a team out there that would take a risk on that net front presence and work ethic with a history of scoring.

You could make a better case for Chiarot getting close to that return if 50% retained. Full cap hit probably nets something close to just a 3rd for the rental.
